Winter in South Africa begins in May and ends in July. In the high areas of the interior plateau weather is characterized by dry, sunny, crisp days and cold nights, sometimes with heavy frosts (minimum 3°C/38°F). It’s a good idea to bring warm clothes, especially for the evenings. The Limpopo Province, however, has fantastic winter weather with sunny, warmish days and virtually no wind or rain.
